Frequently Asked Questions How does NoMound® eliminate the mound? In sand mound systems, the drainfield has to be built up in order to create the required separation between effluent and groundwater. The NoMound® technology works below grade to "push" down the water table to create the required separation. As a result, the mound is eliminated. How do you know the system is working? The system includes a two inch diameter control system with three probes that respond to the groundwater level inside the NoMound® enclosure. Two act to turn the air pump on and off. The third is an alarm that goes off when the water level reaches a high-point. This alerts the owner of potential problems. What sites are appropriate for NoMound®? States and lots with high groundwater tables can benefit from NoMound's® below-grade technology. The system is not suitable where soils such as dense clay and bedrock are limiting factors. How can I install the system? NoMound® has been approved in the State of Florida for five installations under the Innovative Systems Program. If you know of an area or a specific site that can benefit from NoMound® technology, call 1-888-4NoMound or email us through our website. |
